A living thing……….

17 Jul

“Sunset encroached upon daylight like a powder burst from the mouth of a crimson cannon—orange and gold ribbons shot forth to wage a battle against the clouds. The western horizon was obscured by a glow like a living thing.”

Oh, you took the words out of my…fingers…MAGIC! I especially love how the rock side disappears into mist and the other side of the shot shows the detail of the waves. It’s like a dream…

Thank you Sheri….for me… Haystack almost always…seems like a dream….especially around sunset….there is usually a mist…a mystery…a breath taking beauty…..I must have thousands of photographs of it….with never two alike….but always….one of my favorite places on earth….to be and to remember!!

You expressed that so beautifully in words…perhaps that’s why your photo exudes something extra magical too.

Ahhh… the great Haystack Rock! I have such wonderful memories of that beach. Seems like you do, too. It’s a magical place.

Indeed I do….I keep coming across shots I’ve taken over the past few years….many of them at Cannon Beach….and for me….they are MAGIC!
